Concordance Restricted by Book

The Concordance page now lets you limit the search to only certain books of the Bible. Choose "Select Books" under the search options, then select each book you want to search. This can help you see if your search phrase carries different senses in different books. For a small number of results it's usually pretty easy to scroll through them all and notice if the sense is changing in different books, but when there are a lot of results then scrolling through them all can be a distraction. In this case use the new option to break the results into chunks.

It would be even more helpful to have options for selecting groups of books with one click. For example, a "New Testament" option could select Matthew through Revelation. Right now you have to select all twenty-seven of those books individually to limit a search to the new testament. Several groups might be useful, like "Pentateuch," "Prophets," and "Prison Epistles," and maybe you're already wanting to make up your own groups! Probably something along these lines will be added soon, and also look for it on the Generate page where you can select which books of the Bible you want to make PDFs for.

This new option isn't available when using the concordance tool on the Common Contexts page. That page has just a single "Search Options" panel that limits the common context results as well as the concordance results, and limiting common context results to a selected list of books might be more confusing than useful. It's definitely more complicated on the backend! If you think this would be useful for common contexts use the Contact page to say so, and for now remember you can have the Concordance page open in one tab or window and the Common Contexts page open in a another.
