Pay for services.
All paid services are metered. Your meter is the "Balance" indicator near the top of each page that uses paid services. As you use services your balance goes down and when you make a payment it goes up. You can read the Pricing page to learn how your balance goes down, and you can keep reading this page to learn how to make it go up.
The ways to pay are mail in, manual online, automatic online, and in person. When you use one of these payment methods you agree to the terms of use for that method, which terms are given below.
Make your payment payable to "BibleStudy.tools" and mail it to:
Include your username and account email address so the payment can be credited to your account. If you have a printer you can use the "Print Mail In Form" button to print a sheet that shows this and include it with your payment, and you can write this in the memo of the payment. You can also log in to your account and use the Contact Form on the Contact page to give advance notice of an expected mail in payment.
When your mail in payment is received and deposited your account will be credited. Your account balance shows on each page that offers paid services, and as you use those services your balance goes down. When it reaches zero you need to make another payment.
This method adds an extra 3% to your balance. For example, if you mail in a $5.00 payment then your balance will increase by $5.15, because 3% of $5.00 is $0.15. A $100.00 mail in payment would increase your balance by $103.00. The mail in payment form shows you this.
Use the Contact Form on the Contact page to request a refund. Make sure you're logged in to the account that the original payment was applied to, and then in the Message field of the contact form mention the original payment date, original payment amount, requested refund amount, the mailing address you want the refund check sent to, and the reason you want the refund. BibleStudy.tools reserves the right to refuse any refund request, but normally it'll be approved (although the refund amount might be less, as discussed below) as long you provide all this information. Your balance will go down as soon as your refund check is issued, but it can take several days before you receive the check in the mail.
As discussed above mail in payments add 3% extra to your balance, so a refund of a mail in payment brings your balance down by an extra 3%. For example, if a refund check for $10.00 is issued then your balance goes down by $10.30, because 3% of $10.00 is $0.30. Also, the refund amount is limited by your balance at the time the refund check is issued. For example, if you mail in a payment of $100.00 to bring your balance up to $103.00, then use $3.00 of paid services to bring your balance down to $100.00, and then request a refund of that $100.00 payment, only at most $97.09 can be refunded. This refund will bring your balance down to zero since 3% of $97.09 is $2.91 and $97.09 + $2.91 = $100.00. You end up getting nine cents of paid services for free in this example, but if this sounds like a potential money-making scheme to you, you might want to check your heart against the word of God. BibleStudy.tools offers paid services to help you with that.
Make a one-time payment of $3.00 to $99.99 using a credit or debit card online, and within a few seconds you should see your balance go up. Your account balance shows on each page that offers paid services, and as you use those services your balance goes down. When it gets to zero you need to make another payment. Online payments can't be less than $3.00.
Before paying you can choose to save your card, making it easier to make more one-time payments later, or you can let the card be forgotten. If you save it you'll see it appear at the bottom of the page after your successful payment. You can save more than one card.
If you have saved cards you'll need to decide each time you pay whether to use a saved card or to enter a new card. Each saved card will include a "Pay Now" button, and using that button pays immediately using that card.
Use the Contact Form on the Contact page to request a refund. Make sure you're logged in to the account you used when you made the payment, and then in the Message field of the contact form mention the original payment date, original payment amount, requested refund amount, and the reason you want the refund. BibleStudy.tools reserves the right to refuse any refund request, but normally it'll be approved (although the amount might be less, as discussed below) as long you provide all this information.
A refund of a manual online payment is issued as a credit to the card that was originally charged. As soon as your refund is issued your balance goes down by the refund amount, but it might take five to ten days for the refund to appear at your bank. If the card originally charged isn't able to accept the refund then a paper check might be issued. Paper checks that need to be mailed require a mailing address, so be prepared to provide that if needed.
The refund amount is limited by your account balance at the time the refund is issued. For example, if you make a payment of $10.00, then use paid services that bring your account balance down to $9.00, and then request a refund of that $10.00 payment, only at most $9.00 can be refunded, taking your account balance down to zero.
Keep a card on file and authorize automatic scheduled monthly payments on the day of the month you choose. This allows your balance to go negative, and on the chosen day of the month any negative balance is erased by charging the card. Your card is charged between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. America/Phoenix time.
There's a limit to how low your negative balance can go before paid services stop working. The default limit is -$30.00, but you can set it to any value between -$3.00 and -$30.00. For example, you can set a limit of -$10.00 and you won't be able to use paid services if you owe ten dollars or more. Because this limit is checked only when you try to invoke a paid service, you can end up owing more than the limit. For example, if your limit is set to -$10.00, and your balance is -$9.95 when you invoke a paid service, and then that service ends up costing $0.12, you end up owing $10.07. After that you won't be able to use any more paid services.
There are also limits on small payments. If you owe less than $1.00 on your scheduled day of the month then no payment is made, and any negative balance carries over to your next scheduled date. If you owe at least $1.00 but less than $3.00 then a $3.00 payment is made, and you end up with a positive balance. If you owe at least $3.00 then the exact balance is paid. These controls reduce the waste that comes from small card payments. Behind the scenes BibleStudy.tools incurs a fixed fee for every online payment, and if a payment is small this fixed fee eats a large percentage of it.
While you have any negative balance you can't turn off scheduled payments (but you can switch them to a different card), and if you owe $1.00 or more you can't change the day of the month to push your next payment further out. You can, though, at any time use the "Manual Online" method (or any payment method) to decrease the amount you owe. If you decrease it to less than $1.00 you can push out the next payment date, and if you completely erase your negative balance you can turn off scheduled payments.
Remember that $3.00 is the minimum online payment that can be made, either manually or via automatic scheduled billing.
The automatic online method allows you to pay in arrears for services you've already used, and refunds for services that are already used are not normally approved. The small positive balance you might end up with after an automatic online payment would not normally be refunded unless you were canceling your account. Any approved refunds of automatic online payments would be handled the same as refunds of manual online payments, as discussed in the "Refunds of Manual Online Payments" section above.
If you know someone authorized to accept payments you can pay him in person. This method works similiar to the mail in method above in that it adds an extra 3% to your balance. Your balance might go up as soon as the payment is received, or you might have to wait for the payment to be deposited. In person payments can't be made using a card.
Refunds of in person payments are handled mostly the same as refunds of mail in payments. See the "Refunds of Mail In Payments" section above. The differences are you can request the refund in person, and the refund might be issued some other way than a paper check. For example, if the original in person payment was in cash, you might agree in person to receive the refund in cash.
